It takes two hours of tanning time to build a base tan, so the sooner you start, the better.

How to get a darker and longer-lasting tan in the shortest possible time:

Exfoliate your skin before you start tanning so you're not tanning on dead skin that'll just flake off in a few days.
And most importantly - ALWAYS use a tanning accelerator every time you have a sun bed.
Trust us when we say, tanning dry (without a lotion) means it'll take you sooo much longer to build a tan.
