Yes, Dermaplaning is safe when performed by a trained and licensed professional. The procedure is gentle and suitable for all skin types.

Who should avoid Dermaplaning?

Although dermaplaining is suitable for all skin types, it is not suitable for some skin conditions such as active acne, severe rosacea, or other skin conditions. We offer a consulation service if you are unsure of your suitability for this treatment. Please speak to a member of our team and we can book this for you.

Will Dermaplaning make hair grow back thicker?

No, Dermaplaning does not cause hair to grow back thicker. The fine vellus hair, often called "peach fuzz," will grow back slowly, usually in about 4 weeks. We do not Dermaplane over terminal hair, which is thicker and coarser.

How do I prepare for a Dermaplaning treatment?

Avoid using any exfoliating products or treatments for 5 days before your appointment.

What should I do after a Dermaplaning treatment?

After Dermaplaning, it's important to keep your skin hydrated and protected from the sun. Use a gentle moisturiser and apply sunscreen daily to maintain the results. Your therapist will advise you of what you need to do at home after your treatment to mainain your results.

Can Dermaplaning be done on all skin types?

Yes, all skin types can benefit from Dermaplaning. However, it should be avoided on active acne or breakouts. Clients with melanin-rich skin tones should pre-treat their skin 2 weeks prior with brightening products to reduce the risk of post-inflammatory hyperpigmentation (PIH).
