Shwe Tan started in a small salon in 2010 with one treatment room, a nail bar and three sun beds.

In 2018 we expanded and moved into a new amazing space on the High Street in Old Harlow with three treatment rooms, three nail bars, a spray tan room, two pedicure areas and our three sun beds.

We've got a fantastic team here at Shwe. It’s our absolute passion to not only just provide you with outstanding beauty treatments and sun beds, but to make you feel special every time you visit us. And if for any reason you feel you didn’t receive this, please let us know so we can put it right for you.

If you didn't know already, we’re open 7 days a week and until 9pm on weeknights, so there’s no excuse not to come in and treat yourself!

We proudly have over 900 five-star reviews on Google for Shwe Tan and Shwe Beauty, and we were awarded Best Business in Harlow in 2022 by our Local MP Robert Halfon.

We’ve been awarded the GOLD Client Experience Award for our continuous high standard of service for over six years running and we were runners-up for Best Customer Service in the National Entrepreneurs Awards in 2019 and 2020.

Hi, I'm Becca! I am a fully qualified level 3 Beauty Therapist, with 9 years of salon experience and have been with the team at Shwe since 2014 and have loved it ever since! I've carried out nails for the X-Factor contestants and have assisted beauty companies at Olympia and Excel Beauty shows. I have a passion for making my clients feel and look amazing and I love carrying out all beauty services in Shwe but, my favourites have to be waxing and Gelish nails.

My name is Theresa and I started in the Beauty industry straight from school.

I have 18 years of experience and have worked in spas, salons and a cosmetic clinic.

My career as a Beauty Therapist has taken me to the other side of the world and back, having worked in some of the world's most luxury Award-Winning Spas which has given me the opportunity to gain experience and knowledge in an array of different treatments.

I have a strong passion for beauty and making people feel good about themselves.

Whilst in my last year of school I carried out a shadow day at my local college on their beauty course. I spoke to the students, had some treatments myself and watched them being carried out. When I finished the shadow day I had no doubt this was the carer for me, and I've never looked back!

Eighteen years later I still have the same passion I did the day I started. I love making people feel happy, relaxed and more confident about themselves.

I take the time to explain each clients treatment to them and find out what they want to achieve on their visit to us and how we can help them achieve their goal.

Hi, I'm Sophie, I’m so passionate about everything beauty. Over the past 16 years, I’ve picked up lots of skills and trained in many treatments. I love making people feel beautiful and confident because everyone deserves some pampering and to feel good about themselves! Hiya, I’m Mia and I've been in the Beauty world for 20 years.

I love my job! I love that every day is different, I love that I get to carry out lots of different treatments, I love that I get to chat with my regular clients, and I love that I get to meet loads of new clients.

My passion is waxing, and you guessed it - I love it!

We have an amazing hot wax that we use here at Shwe.
I’ve had new clients come to see me that have had terrible waxing experiences in the past and are very nervous to try waxing again. The hot wax we use is a game-changer, and these clients now come to see me monthly.

I really enjoy pampering clients and making them feel relaxed and refreshed.
Throughout my career, I’ve had amazing opportunities and have worked at events such as the London film festival, The Brit Awards, and the Oscars.
I’m really passionate about all the treatments I do. I specialise in waxing and have been lucky enough to be trained by the J Sisters that created Brazilian waxing.

Hi, I'm Jamie-Leigh and I have been in the beauty industry for 12 years.

I love what I do and making people feel happy and relaxed. I most enjoy carrying out pedicures and massages, but love that a day as a Beauty Therapist is never the same with all the different treatments you can carry out.

Hi, I’m Abi,

I joined Shwe in November 2021 as a Salon Assistant. I was promoted first to Junior Beauty Therapist and have recently been promoted again to Beauty Therapist, having qualified in Levels 2 & 3 in Beauty Therapy. I’m currently studying for my Level 4 Advanced Beauty course to become an Aesthetic Therapist, which I’m thoroughly enjoying.

I am passionate about beauty and love making people feel good about themselves and I love seeing the results from treatments! I also love that I get to chat and catch up with my regular clients and enjoy meeting new clients and getting to know them.

My favourite treatments are spray tanning and LVLs, which I have recently completed training for. I love seeing the confidence boost these treatments give to everyone, with instant results!

My name is Lynsey Tate, I love being a Therapist! I have been very fortunate to have a varied career over the past twenty years.

Originally I qualified as a Beauty Therapist, but I soon realised that my true calling and passion lay in Aesthetics.

I continued my College education and with progression, I developed a fascination with Laser and Light energy treatments and their potential to remove hair, remove tattoos and also help with Acne; this was with a Harley St Clinic in central London.

I enjoyed working with lasers for over 8 years but in this industry, nothing stands still, and so we had the evolution of RadioFrequency and LED devices; also skin care and facial peels were becoming increasingly effective and popular.

I joined a Cosmetic doctor in Mayfair who specialised in facial procedures; under her mentorship, I found a love for, and understanding of skincare awareness and facial rejuvenation.

Moving forward with my Education I completed training and qualified in a specialist Treatment-Manual Lymphatic Drainage (or MLD). This can be really beneficial for surgical recovery, after plastic surgery, as well as conditions such as lymphoedema: I became the sole MLD Therapist for a specialist Transgender Surgeon in London’s Trendy Wimpole St.

After two decades of working in London, Cambridge came calling, this was a new chapter where I had a multi-Disciplined role of Aesthetic Practitioner, Treatment Co-Ordinator and Assisting during General anaesthetic day case procedures.

I continue to offer MLD Privately and continue to work with Cosmetic and plastic Surgeons for Post-surgical healing and recovery.

After working in the hustle and bustle of London and Cambridge, I’m so excited to join the Shwe team in my home county of Essex!

Returning to the wonderful world of Beauty Therapy, I want to make every client journey and treatment special, bespoke, and beneficial for the individual.

Hi! I'm Zoe, a Level 3 Beauty Therapist with nine years of experience, and I'm a certified Dermalogica Skin Expert. My world revolves around beauty - and nothing brings me more joy than making clients feel good about themselves.

Whether I'm catching up with regulars or welcoming new faces, I thrive in the friendly, social atmosphere of the salon. I'm happiest when I'm performing beauty treatments - a passion that I genuinely enjoy.

My favourite treatment is the Dermalogica facials. I'm deeply interested in skincare, always eager to learn more and I have a particular fondness for the Dermalogica Pro Power Peel treatment.

Hello, I'm Brooke!

I started my beauty journey at Harlow College in 2019. I learned a lot about beauty therapy there and got my NVQ level 2 qualification. I now have four years of experience in the beauty industry, doing what I absolutely love.

While I was at college I had my first work experience in a salon, helping at the front desk and learning to remove gel nails. Then, I spent three great years working in a cosy garden room salon. I did many treatments like eyelash extensions, gel nails, eyebrow tinting, and waxing. The best part was seeing my clients' happy faces when they loved their new look.

Lash extensions are one of my specialities. I’ve been working on my skills for two years in styles like classic, hybrid, and Russian lashes. I love seeing the confidence in my clients when they look in the mirror after a lash treatment with me. The whole process is just so calm and nice - it's honestly my favourite part of the day!

I’ve also been doing gel nails for over three years, and it’s another one of my favourites. Making my clients feel good with a fresh set of nails is just the best feeling!

I really like doing lashes, gels and waxing - but I’m always ready to learn new things. There's always more to learn in this job, and I can't wait to bring new skills to you!

My goal is to make you feel at ease when you come into our salon. I want you to feel comfy, relaxed, and totally welcome. Beauty is all about feeling good, inside and out, and I love being a part of that journey with my clients.

I am currently studying for my NVQ Level 3 in Beauty Therapy and have completed my Level 2.

I have recently completed my gel nails training course and am currently looking for models! I’m also seeking models for back, neck, and shoulder massages, as I have recently completed my training in this area.

I have always had a passion for the beauty industry and knew from a young age it was what I wanted to do. My specialties are in spray tanning and massage.
